Hey all 8 of you.
Thanks for sticking with me.
Here’s some photos from so far:

I am especially proud of the last one. It’s pretty subtle, but if you are familiar with some art, you might get it. Maybe not though. I’ll never know. I’m hilarious. Coffee is burning my tongue. Gotta go. Sorry it’s short. Everything is going well. We started giving away our album, and it’s going really, really well. More to come soon.
Love,
Dann
Here’s a photo diary of what happened on tour. Mostly with low quality phone pictures. Ha. Enjoy.

When you’re doing what you love with the people you love, what more can you ask for?
I’m not sure why, but I’ve noticed that 90% of the time someone refers to the North East part of the US, they say, “Back East” instead of just “East” or “East Coast” In the spirit of desperately wanting to fit in, I’ve named my entire blog post that! Hooray. I hope you feel like I am out from back east when you think of me. Just kidding. I like being from Colorado. Plus, why do the states south of New York get ditched, and you have to name them by their proper name when you are referring to them? Especially poor old Florida. That state really puts up with a lot from a lot of people. Oh well. Whatareyougonnado?
Also, Reid was mentioning that everyone out here likes to treat everyone poorly, which I highly disagree with, but just after he made his point, we went into a quiznos, and a customer was being a big jerk to the sammich maker. It was almost too coincidental. I almost think that Reid knew that customer jerk guy, and called him ahead and told him we would be at that specific quiznos, and the guy went there just before us, and was explaining the whole thing to the sammich maker, to make sure he knew he wasn’t REALLY that upset about a silly sandwich and how he was going to tell him that he was doing an awful job, and just be an all around jerk for no reason, all in hopes that Tifah and I would buy into what Reid was saying, which was all east coasters are jerks to each other. I still don’t buy it, and I am sticking with my conspiracy. Yup. That’s all.
In other news, I really like being back east.
Sorry for the lack of updates. I know all 3 of you want to know whats happening. I haven’t had time to use a computer and give you a real update but I hope to soon. We’re going to see sigur ros tomorrow and I am so excited. In other news, Jenny will be here with me (finally) in just over a week and I couldn’t be happier about it. So. Happy. That’s all for now.
Johnny Schou, the bass player of a band called “Tickle Me Pink” was found dead on tuesday. It was the day that their first national album was debuting. He was only 22. We are friends with the entire band, and were very upset to hear the news. Our hearts and condolences go out to the band, and all their families. Here’s a news story if you want to learn more. I am shocked at how differently I perceive arizona now. It’s so crazy to think that other than loving school, I absolutely hated living out here starting back in the summer of 2002 and going until january of 2003. It was so hot. People were so angry and rude. I couldn’t really get to know anyone. Now, Continue reading ‘God Bless Arizona.’
We are done with touring. For now.I am back home in Denver, and I have to say it’s pretty weird. I am alone, and already feeling lonely without my bandmates. It’s a strange feeling being so close to 4 other people and then going your separate ways. This morning when I woke up, I was really confused. I didn’t know where I was, or what was happening, and then after a few seconds I realized that I wasn’t on the road anymore, and I was back in my own comfortable bed, and I was alone. Waking up next to 4 people becomes habit after a while, I suppose. Continue reading ‘The End.’
We’re on our last leg of the tour, and it’s getting more beautiful the further north we go.
From Stockton, I drove to Santa Cruz, and it started getting really, really green, and all of a sudden a huge windmill farm was all around us. It was stunning. After that, it never failed to dazzle us. Trees were everywhere, it was so green, and it was a beautiful sunny day. We started listening to Sigur Ros, and I almost started crying. It was too beautiful for words. After that, Patty Griffin summed it up perfectly with two words: “Heavenly Day.” Continue reading ‘The Great Northwest.’
I have been really bad at blogging regularly. That’s no secret. I wish I had more motivation to do it. I guess living on the road is a little weird. It changes your mindset a bit. Although it’s a bit hard to describe, it’s almost like being isolated from real life for a time even though this is about as real as it gets. Continue reading ‘Texas Feels Infinite’
