Tour so far!

Hey all 8 of you.

Thanks for sticking with me.

Here’s some photos from so far:

I am especially proud of the last one. It’s pretty subtle, but if you are familiar with some art, you might get it. Maybe not though. I’ll never know. I’m hilarious. Coffee is burning my tongue. Gotta go. Sorry it’s short. Everything is going well. We started giving away our album, and it’s going really, really well. More to come soon.

Love,

Dann

Lots of Love to Give.

When you’re doing what you love with the people you love, what more can you ask for?

Back East.

I’m not sure why, but I’ve noticed that 90% of the time someone refers to the North East part of the US, they say, “Back East” instead of just “East” or “East Coast” In the spirit of desperately wanting to fit in, I’ve named my entire blog post that! Hooray. I hope you feel like I am out from back east when you think of me. Just kidding. I like being from Colorado. Plus, why do the states south of New York get ditched, and you have to name them by their proper name when you are referring to them? Especially poor old Florida. That state really puts up with a lot from a lot of people. Oh well. Whatareyougonnado?

Also, Reid was mentioning that everyone out here likes to treat everyone poorly, which I highly disagree with, but just after he made his point, we went into a quiznos, and a customer was being a big jerk to the sammich maker. It was almost too coincidental. I almost think that Reid knew that customer jerk guy, and called him ahead and told him we would be at that specific quiznos, and the guy went there just before us, and was explaining the whole thing to the sammich maker, to make sure he knew he wasn’t REALLY that upset about a silly sandwich and how he was going to tell him that he was doing an awful job, and just be an all around jerk for no reason, all in hopes that Tifah and I would buy into what Reid was saying, which was all east coasters are jerks to each other. I still don’t buy it, and I am sticking with my conspiracy. Yup. That’s all.

In other news, I really like being back east.

I love Apple. I love Macs. I love lamp.

I love my new MacBook! I just got it, and I am so happy with it. Anyone not reading this on a mac should be. I promise you’ll like it more. The Road is great, but I am ready to be home. I miss everyone. That’s all!

Love,

Dann

Hooray!

Long overdue update:

We just got done with the west coast and we have about 4 weeks under our belt and about 3 more to go. It went by fast now that I am here typing this but thinking back, so much happened!

Starting in San diego we played and then drove all the way to Seattle and Portland and then all the way back down to LA and then Anaheim and San diego again. Then phoenix and then LA again then phoenix and now wears in Oklahoma city. Whew! I’m sure I forgot something but it was definitely a lot of driving and playing. We also saw Sigur Rós is Berkeley somewhere in there too.

We just filled up for $2.19/gallon in OKC which has to be some sort of record in years for lowest gas price. It’s amazing.

I have only fond memories of the last few weeks. I miss my family and my friends and my girlfriend so so much. I can’t wait to get back home an see everyone.

I love being on the road. It’s a hell of a lot of work and sometimes not the most fun or easiest thing to do but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I get to play music with 2 of my best friends for a living. How cool is that? It’s amazing to think where I thought I was headed 3 short years ago. In retrospect, I’m so happy none of those plans worked out. It’s funny how life works and where you find yourself along the way.

I feel like a lot of times when I start writing and thinking about what to write, I almost automatically turn to remembering how thankful I am. It might sound weird, but I am also really thankful for being able to be thankful. I just have a really grateful heart for everything that I have been given and I feel so lucky and blessed in so many ways and I am just often overwhelemd by it all to the point of shedding tears (happy ones).

I am pretty sleepy now. I have been doing nothing all day except sitting. I hope to work out tomorrow before our trip to Kansas city.

Please feel free to write or call me anytime. I would LOVE to hear from you. Sorry about the spelling errors. I typed this on my phone and sometimes it doesn’t autocorrect how I would like it and I end up not catching it.

See you later, alligator.

Sorry x2

I know, I know. You were hoping for an update, but unfortunately, I don’t have time! I did want to let you know that I am in charge of blogging for The Autumn Film now. Woo! In fact, I just blogged all over the place (I actually need some paper towels to help clean it up) Check out http://theautumnfilm.com and then click on thoughts, and you’ll see the most recent entries. After you’re done, click on store, and then click on buy, and then click on checkout. After that, repeat from step 2. Thanks! That’s where I’ll be blogging for the foreseeable future, so come check me out over there!

Keep it classy, The Official Blog of Dann Stockton reader(s). I’ll update this when I can.

Last night before we hit the road

Tonight we played our last show before we are gone for almost 2 months on the road. Although bittersweet, I am so excited and I can’t wait to see what will happen next. Big things are on the horizon for the autumn film. A lot of my friends and family showed up tonight and it was just about the most encouraging thing ever. It just feels really validating to see all the support for what I have chosen to do. I’m sorry to those of you that read this that I wasn’t able to really say hi. I am so glad you came and it means so much to me. Thank you. Write me an email! I would love to hear from you. Cheers.

Belly Up!

Oh man. We just played at the belly up venue in aspen. Pretty much everyone who is anyone has played there with pictures on the wall to prove it. It was amazing to say the least. Bob Dylan was there just a couple of nights ago. Incredible stuff. Gah. It’s all happening. I am incredibly lucky in so many different ways. Continue reading ‘Belly Up!’

Copper Mountain, Charlie!

Copper mountain is awesome. I love it up here and it seems like we were just here. It hailed earlier today. Here’s some pictures.

Some Sad News…

Johnny Schou, the bass player of a band called “Tickle Me Pink” was found dead on tuesday. It was the day that their first national album was debuting. He was only 22. We are friends with the entire band, and were very upset to hear the news. Our hearts and condolences go out to the band, and all their families. Here’s a news story if you want to learn more.
