I am sorry I didn’t blog when I said I would.
We are staying at Craig Reynolds house. (the retired baseball player, now pastor of Houston megachurch) Woo! I think it’s pretty cool.
He has the record of the most triple plays in one game. He also played in 2 all star games. That is serious business. ALSO! I found out that his son is good friends with one of my good friends. Pretty awesome. *cue “it’s a small world”*
So. Where to begin. Umm, I can’t really remember where I left off, but we played in Lubbock, and then we played at Emos in Austin. That was really fun, although none of us are quite sure why it’s “the place” to play in Austin though. After that we drove through the night and played for some presby church in Houston. After playing twice in one day (Eccesia at night) we had 2 days off! Woo! That was great. I got a lot of work done on my portrait website. I am stoked. It will be done really soon. It’s cool to think about not having any knowledge whatsoever about web languages, and here I am doing pretty well in CSS. (Also many thanks to my brother Dave who has been a huuge help)
After that, we played at taft and I got to see my good buddy Levi and his new wife Mandy. They are great together, and I am still really happy for them. We played well, but unfortunately, the stupid weather channel and everyone else who knew anything about the weather and was allowed to be on TV said that there was going to be a tonnnnn of rain (like 14 inches) and there actually ended up being zero rain at all, but people are so convinced of weather stuff on tv, and it’s just so stupid, so only a few people ended up showing up. Dennis Prager has a book called think a second time that I am reading right now that talks about just that. Anyway, we at least broke even and didn’t lose money so that was good.
That brings us to tonight. We played at this singles group for a huge church here in Houston and it went well. It was fun. Tomorrow morning we’re headed off to Dallas to play at the Door. I’ll be seeing some people I haven’t seen in a long time. More news to come later! Thanks for sticking with me, all 2 of you.
