The Great Northwest.

We’re on our last leg of the tour, and it’s getting more beautiful the further north we go.

From Stockton, I drove to Santa Cruz, and it started getting really, really green, and all of a sudden a huge windmill farm was all around us. It was stunning. After that, it never failed to dazzle us. Trees were everywhere, it was so green, and it was a beautiful sunny day. We started listening to Sigur Ros, and I almost started crying. It was too beautiful for words. After that, Patty Griffin summed it up perfectly with two words: “Heavenly Day.”

I want to live out here. Cupertino where Apple is and Moutain View where Google is, is out here too. I think we all couldn’t help but be inspired by all the beauty surrounding us. It was absolutely incredible.

We played that night at the Catalyst Club, which is a legit venue, because all kinds of big names come through there. We were on the side stage, and it was a free show, and it was the best of the tour. The crowd (Yes! There was a crowd!) was TOTALLY with us, even though they had no clue who we were. It was so encouraging. Also, this band before us, PK was so energetic, and definitely inspiring. We all got up there and played really well. It’s hard to describe all the energy that takes place when there’s that special something happening. It’s absolutely electric.

We’re in San Francisco now, and it took me about 2.6 seconds to fall in love with the city. It’s gorgeous and we got to eat probably the best sushi I’ve ever had, and drink amazing coffee that only local know about. (Thanks, Kim!) and I saw the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time. Stunning.

Next stop: Portland.
